Winter Arc is a time-boxed habit tracker: you pick a hard start and a hard end, choose a few daily non-negotiables under three to five pillars, and check them off each day. Everything stays on your device.
Streaks counts consecutive days you completed every tracked habit. Simple and strict — one missed day resets the streak.
Consistency Score measures the percentage of habit-days you completed against a target you choose. Forgiving of the occasional miss, good if you want a realistic average rather than a perfect run.
Grace Days gives you a fixed budget of missed days. With a budget of three, three missed days are forgiven; the fourth ends the arc. Good if you want a hard consequence without it being all-or-nothing.
You choose. When the budget is exhausted the app shows you the options: Keep going anyway continues tracking with the arc marked failed, so you still finish the ninety days and keep your history. Restart with the same setup archives the current arc and starts a fresh one with your existing pillars and habits pre-filled.
Yes — Settings → Edit habits. A habit you add starts tracking from today, and a habit you remove stops being tracked but stays in your history, so your past days are never rewritten.
Yes, within the edit window. Open the day from the Progress heat map and toggle it there. Days outside the window are locked and show a caption explaining why, so that your history stays honest.
That is expected. The app watches for midnight and finalises the previous day as soon as it arrives, so your counts are always for the correct date, even if you leave the app open overnight or travel across time zones.
The widget updates shortly after you toggle a habit, but iOS decides when to refresh it and can delay that to save battery. Opening the app forces it to refresh. If it stays stale, remove the widget and add it again.
Inside the app's own private storage on your iPhone. They are never uploaded. If you tap to save a comparison to your photo library, the app asks for add-only permission and writes a copy there — it cannot read the rest of your library.
Winter Arc does not sync, but its data is included in your iPhone backup. If you restore a new phone from an iCloud or encrypted local backup, your arc comes with it. Setting up a new phone as new, without restoring a backup, starts you fresh.
Settings → Reset app data permanently erases your arc, check-ins, reflections, photos and preferences. Deleting the app removes all of it too.
No. Winter Arc has no networking at all and works identically in airplane mode.
Winter Arc supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type through the largest accessibility sizes, Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast. If something is hard to use with an accessibility feature turned on, please email me — that is a bug worth fixing.
